1. Who We Are

Osmo Lingo ("we", "us", "our") is a language learning application available as a web app at app.osmolingo.app and as a Telegram Mini App via @OsmoLingoBot.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to provide the service:

  • Account information — Telegram user ID and name (when using via Telegram), or Google account email (when using via web)
  • Learning preferences — your selected language pairs, reading level, and topic interests
  • Content you upload — books, articles, or URLs you import for reading
  • Usage data — reading progress, pages visited (via Google Analytics)
  • Diagnostic data — crash reports and error logs (via Sentry). When an error occurs, Sentry also captures a short replay of the UI leading up to the error; all text content and form inputs are masked by default. Replays are not collected for normal (error-free) sessions.
  • Country code — derived from your IP address (via Cloudflare headers) for language detection

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide AI-powered text adaptation and translation
  • To save your reading progress and preferences
  • To improve the service quality and user experience
  • To process payments (via Telegram Stars, Google Play Billing, or other payment providers)

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Google Analytics — for anonymous usage statistics
  • Sentry — for crash reporting and error monitoring. Captures error-triggered UI replays only (not normal sessions); text and inputs are masked. Used solely for debugging by our engineering team.
  • Cloudflare — for content delivery and security
  • Google AI (Gemini) — for text analysis and adaptation
  • Telegram — for authentication and payments (when using via Telegram)
  • Google Sign-In — for authentication (when using via web)
  • Google Play Billing — for subscription purchases and renewals when the app is installed from Google Play. Transaction data is processed by Google subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. Uploaded content is stored encrypted. We retain your data for as long as your account is active.

6. Your Rights

You can:

  • Request a copy of your data
  • Delete your account and all associated data at any time via osmolingo.app/delete-account or directly in the app (☰ menu → Delete account)
  • Opt out of analytics by using browser extensions or settings

7. Children's Privacy

Osmo Lingo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via the application.
